The power of the WHO

If you eliminate people in whatever you do, your chances of making money are reduced. Do you know that all the billionaires exist because of you? Without people, there can never be any true meaning of life. You need to understand the power of the who on your finances.

Many great people have outlined the importance of the people on the success of any business. These are some of the most important quotes about people:

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

King Solomon (Bible)

Investors buy into people and ideas, not numbers alone.

Richard Branson

Who decides what’s in Windows? The customers who buy it.

Bill Gates

There is a need to understand the roles that are played by people on making you succeed. Our parents, teachers and mentors have done a great job in making us who we are. Our friends and partners have a lot to say in what we are and who we will become.

The power of the WHO on your business

The first thing you need to consider when you are thinking of starting a company is about the WHO. Whose needs are you trying to solve? You are solving a problem for who? Who are the sources of your success? Who will execute your vision?

It may seem less important to focus on the people first but this is the foundation of any great business. Before you decide on what to deliver, you need to focus on who you are going to deliver to. Understanding what people need will guide you towards your vision.

An entrepreneur needs to master the craft of who to employ. After understanding the problems of the people, you need to determine the people who will materialize your vision to solve those problems. The success of your business depends on the people whom you employ.

Furthermore, the measure of success on your business largely depends on how you understand your clients (those with a need) and the performance of your employees. The economy is the people and that is the power of the who on your finances. If you treat people with love, your vision will be easily fulfilled.

The power of the WHO on your personal finances

Your friends

So you spend your time hanging out with crybabies and you expect to be successful? The type of friends you choose determines where you are going. Your friends have the power to influence you to make decisions.

Although, reading books about investing or reading blog posts about saving and investing money makes you informed about growing your money, friends influence you to act. It is easier to invest in shares or any financial product if your friends are doing it. People are wired to believe that what works well on one person will surely work on them.

Moreover, if your friends are only thinking about spending money without having budgets, there is a higher chance that you will do the same. What you talk when you are making a braai or doing your hair at the saloon is what defines your perception about life. If you want to be successful, associate yourself with people who are driven by the urge to succeed.

Your partner

People are attracted by different things on their partners but if you are serious about a life of success, choose a partner who makes you a better person.

It is very challenging to be a transparent and great investor if your partner is against investing. The person may not be knowledgeable about your area of expertise but if he/she supports your vision, you will be motivated to excel. When you were young, your cheer leaders were your parents but now that you are an adult, the power has been shifted to your partner. Your partner has power to affect your emotions and hence the power to affect the way you manage money.

In addition, there is a saying that the longer you stay with someone, the more you become like her/him. This influences your habit of investing or the way you perceive about debt. You can even try to impress your partner by doing ridiculous financial decisions and you end up being trapped in debt.

Security guards and general workers

One may wonder how this has anything to do with making money. It does affect your ability to manage your money in several ways.

Security guards and general workers understand what is going on at your company more than you. They have access to the offices that you can never dream of setting your foot into. They can easily talk to anyone at any time. So what if you talk to them more often? You automatically have access to the company’s ways. They can provide a stepping stone you need to network with people who can change your life financially.

Additionally, general workers know what the problems of the society are. They understand the hassles being experienced by people. This is a great way to identify the problems to solve in the society. If you are having problems on figuring out where to get affordable things, the security guards and general workers can help you. This will make you understand the power of the who on managing your money.

Furthermore, treat the security guards and general workers well and the favor you will get in return will be overwhelming. I am not saying you should be friends with them but I am saying you should treat them like your own people – that will make a difference.

In conclusion, there is no success without the sacrifice of people. This is the power of the WHO on your finances. The revenue that you get from your company comes from the people around you. Those people are paying your salary. If they reduce their demand on what you are delivering to them, you may find yourself struggling to survive. This justifies why Jesus encouraged the Christian believers to love one another . Every person around you has power to help you succeed.
